Many people can immediately tell when an article is written by AI: Too much empty talk and clichés, sentences that are overly smooth, and endings that habitually conclude with slogan-like proclamations.

The problem isn't with AI, but with how we use it. To write more like "yourself," I commonly use three steps: adjust the prompt → show AI examples → manually edit yourself. This method is simple and direct, but extremely effective.

Step 1: Adjust the prompt and make the task clear

AI writes poorly often because the instructions are too vague. Prompts don't need to be fancy, but they should clearly communicate four points:
